Our Story
Rooted in Heritage. Cultivating Wellness.
Farm Folk is a 6th-generation family farm dedicated to regenerative agriculture, natural wellness, and creative expression. At Farm Folk, we grow more than herbs and botanicals; we grow community. We steward the land with sustainability at our core.
Farm Folk is the living story of a legacy of farmers and homesteaders whose roots run deep in the prairies of Alberta. Since 1897, when the first generation journeyed from Europe to settle a homestead east of Edmonton, the family has cultivated the land with purpose, resilience, and connection.
As a sixth-generation farming family, our story is anchored in Beaver Hills, a rare and protected UNESCO Biosphere. This land has shaped our identity through cycles of planting, harvest, and renewal.
Today, the farm near Elk Island National Park continues to be a collaborative family effort. Farm Folk stands for more than just agriculture. It is a celebration of generational wisdom, stewardship, natural wellness, and the prairie way of life, offering small-batch handcrafted herbs, botanicals, and creative works inspired by the land that raised us.
As farmers, herbalists, and artists, we honour our roots while creating a future grounded in health, ecology, and creativity.
VISION STATEMENT
“Our vision is to create a harmonious and regenerative farm-based retreat nestled within nature, where sustainable development intertwines with regenerative agriculture, fostering creativity, honoring traditions, embracing slow living, and celebrating handcrafted making. We are committed to supporting biodiversity, nurturing a thriving ecosystem, and cultivating a deep connection between humans and the natural world. Our farm is a sanctuary of sustainability, where every action is a step towards holistic wellness, cultural preservation, and a legacy of stewardship for future generations.”
